Near the B&B

The bed and breakfast 'L Ramassin is located in an enviable position in the region of Saluzzo where the wine Qugliano D.O.C. is made. An old wine with a fruity flavour, from a very old grape.

The territory, that sourrounds us, offers a scenery rich of valleys and hills, located in the south-east of Piedmont and known as „low Piedmont“, close to the border of France and Liguria. Where you can find various, medieval villages with castles and fortesses and cities with parks and gardens.

You have different possibilities close to the B&B, because not far away is Busca, a quiet city with a famous Institute for music. It is full of romanic, medieval churches and buildings like the Church della Rossa, Porta Santa Maria and the very nice neogotical Castello del Roccolo. In just a few kms you can reach the splendid city Saluzzo, with a perfectly restored historical centre and with a very nice zone of the medieval jails, known as “La Castiglia” If you’re interested in culture, you’re at the right place.

One of the best ways to discover the beauty of the surroundings of our B&B is to use a bike. We have a few itineraries for every kind of demand for you.
The routes start directly at our B&B, where you can also get maps, GPS trails and all other important information, to go about your bicycle trips.
The location plans have different levels of difficulty and lengths, both for experts and families, that are looking for a relaxing afternoon inside the deadal beauty, the estates and fields that surround Busca.
Someone, that wants to have alternative holidays and wants to ride a bike in a „light version“, can use an electrical Mountainbike (E-Bike).

Percorso 1: Monte Pagliano - Via Morera

Length: 22 km
Inclination: 750 m
Highest Point: 987 m Monte Pagliano
Level of difficulty: middle
Type of bicycle: mountain bike

Note: Climb and downhill demanding. There are 2 difficult alternatives of downhill, only for experts..

Mount Pagliano is the highest peak of hills near Busca. There are many routes that outdoorsmen can take. The view to Mount Monviso is marvellous. The via Murena is a hill street that connects the higher part of the hills between Costigliole Saluzzo and Ceretto and that crosses the Bosco della Sarunera, a forest of oak trees and chestnut trees .


Percorso 2: Monte Pagliano e Castello di Rossana

Length: 16 km
Inclination: 750 m
Highest Point: 987 m Monte Pagliano
Level of difficulty: difficult.
Type of bicycle: mountain bike.

Note: Climb demanding, downhill difficult.

Mount Pagliano is the highest peak of hills near Busca. There are many routes that outdoorsmen can take. The view to Mount Monviso is marvellous. Rossana is a village of the lower part of Valle Varaita: its most popular monument is La Parrochiale dell´ Assunta (a parish). The Castello dei Conti Gazelli was constructed inside in AD 1000 and was used by the Earls of Busca. The via Murena is a hill street that connects the higher part of the hills between Costigliole Saluzzo and Ceretto and that crosses the Bosco della Sarunera, a forest of oak trees and chestnut trees .


Percorso 3: Costigliole Saluzzo e le colline del vino Quagliano

Length: 8 km
Inclination: 350 m
Highest Point: 700 m
Level of difficulty: easy
Type of bicycle:: mountain bike

A DOC wine, sweet, smooth and substantial. You are encouraged to enjoy a simple enogastronomic tour for everyone to discover the taste and view to the vineyards of the surroundings of this small resort Costigliole Saluzzo. It is well- known for its wellness center that was discovered in ancient Castello Rosso.


Percorso 4a: "Il sentiero del Maira" da Busca a Villar San Costanzo

Length: 38 km
Inclination: 300 m.
Highest Point: 640 m Area attrezzata Ciciu del Villar
Level of difficulty: easy.
Type of bicycle:: mountain bike or city bike.

Note: Climb and downhill for everybody.

The hiking trail of Maira Valle is a distance of 50 kms for trekking, bicycles or horseback riding between Villar San Costanzo and Racconigi, that guides along the Maira River and gives you a marvellous view to the Alps and the plains between forests, fields and country roads. You can often meet wild animals.


Percorso 4b: Il sentiero del Maira "da Busca a Savigliano"

Length: 40 km fino al lago la Sirenetta. 52 km fino a Savigliano.
Inclination: 330 m.
Highest Point: 600 m B&B L'Ramassin.
Level of difficulty: easy. you have to cross a simple fording.
Type of bicycle:: mountain bike o city bike.

Percorso 5: Conoscere Busca

Length: 16 km
Inclination: 200 m
Highest Point: 600 m B&B L'Ramassin.
Level of difficulty: no difficuty
Tipo Bicicletta: mountain bike o city bike.

Note: simple and for everybody

Busca is a small village, but rich in history and architectural beauties. Discover the church of San Martino situated on a hill, only a few minutes walk away from our B&B. While you go down to the village, you can see the Piazza della Rossa, its name is from the characteristic color of the Chiesa della Santissima Trinità from the 17th Century. If you go through the Porta Santa Maria, the best preserved gate of the once-thriving county of Busca, you can get to the characteristic Castello del Roccolo in the neo-gothic style.
